The Minot Fire Department’s mission statement is “Trained, maintained, and ready”. As a community the City of Minot has been forced to make some pretty significant budget cuts. Unfortunately, they come with repercussions. We as the Minot Fire Department have been focusing on Mental Health and Wellness. These are the items that have been determined to be cut out of the budget. Our mission for the first responders is to make sure that they know that they have resources when it comes to mental health and wellness. We know that many of these individuals “suffer in silence” and need an outlet. Our goal as a department is to give the tools and training to minimize the mental health effect that comes with this profession.
