April 2015 – Kenmare, N.D. – Representatives of three Kenmare organizations attending a luncheon in Minot were recipients of $19,000 in grant money last Monday (March 23).

Lisa Bartlett of Wheels and Meals, John Fetterhoff of the Kenmare/Mohall Safe Community Coalition and Chuck Leet of the Kenmare Volunteer Fire Department all were presented checks from the St. Joseph’s Community Health Foundation.

Wheels and Meals received $7,000 to supplement in-home care and pre-cooked meals in Ward, Burke and Renville counties.

Fetterhoff was presented a check for $2,000 for the Caring Communities Nurturing Healthy Relationships, promoting healthy relationships project. It will help raise awareness of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse, and will provide dating education for high school juniors and seniors.  

Leet was presented a $10,000 grant to help the department purchase wildland firefighting suits as well as extrication equipment.
