November 2020 – Minot, N.D. – St. Joseph’s Community Health Foundation has awarded grants totaling $123,600 to support area organizations.

Grants serve projects that impact the mental, physical, spiritual and/or emotional well-being of people in the counties of Bottineau, Burke, McHenry, McLean, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville, Rolette, Sheridan, Ward and Wells.

Grants include $15,000 to the senior nutrition program at the Minot Commission on Aging, $10,000 to Kenmare Wheels and Meals and $10,000 to Souris Basin Transportation.

The Village Family Service Center, based in Fargo, received grants of $15,000 for a pregnancy and parenting support program and $10,000 for supervised parenting time and child exchange.

Youthworks will receive $7,500 for its short term care and assessment center. Grants of $5,000 will go to Bishop Ryan Catholic School for preparing tomorrow’s biomedical science professionals, Minot Central Dispatch to upgrade emergency dispatch system, Tri-County Senior Meals & Services in Rugby, and Ward County Sheriff’s Department for defibrillators and handheld radios.

Receiving $4,000 are Camp Metigoshe, Bottineau, for the Building Bridges program and Camp of the Cross Ministries, Garrison, for a handicap ramp.

Receiving $2,000 grants were Bismarck State College Foundation for scholarship funding for nursing students in Garrison; Garrison Resource Center & Food Pantry for freezer upgrade; Farm Safety 4 Just Kids, Minot; Minot Vet Center for art therapy and yoga for counseled veterans; North Dakota Association of Drug Court Professionals, Minot, for juvenile gift card incentives; and The Difference A Holistic Approach for awareness program and free sessions.

Rolette County Public Health, Rolla, received $3,500 for an immunization program.

Rehab Services received $3,500 for defibrillators.

The Minot Family YMCA received $3,000 for a strength, balance and mobility program for older adults.

Mercer Community Center, Mercer, received $1,000 for a new sound system and baffling panels.

FirstLink, Fargo, received $600 for education and awareness.

Grants of $1,500 went to Mountrail County Aquatics Foundation, Stanley, for pool class equipment; Peace and Honor Quilts of Valor, Minot, to provide quilts to active duty and veterans of war; and Vincent United Methodist Church Sowers of Love, Minot, for fabric for quilts.

Beginning Nov. 15, St. Joseph’s Community Health Foundation will match eligible contributions up to a total of $350,000 to 73 agencies and food pantries through the SJCHF Twice Blessed Program.
